Case Study: Expanding UK Pub Chain

Title: Birmingham City Centre development

The Situation

Head of Steam is an expanding UK pub chain with bars in most major cities reqyuires an new business in Birmingham City Centre.

The pub needed to have a unique feel and innovative design features and was Cameron’s biggest investment in a single venue.

We were asked to tender for the job as main contractor. It wasn’t without its challenges. Firstly, the kitchen extractor had to go up through the building, a full 30 metres.

Secondly, the floor could only take so much weight so special screeds had to be used in certain areas.

Finally, the city centre location created a number of logistics challenges in getting the site ready, such as no parking, no skips and it made delivering materials difficult.
